Our ideal franchise owners are financially qualified, love people, families, and children, and are excited about our brand. You’ll need access to a prime location that meets our guidelines, hold shared values of the A La Mode Shoppe team – we sweat the small stuff! – and should have at least three years of business management experience, preferably in the food and beverage industry, as well as an understanding of the legal requirements and principles of operating a business. We’ll provide the training, tools, and guidance you need to start an ice cream shop and operate it effectively

We share everything we know – and add sprinkles on top! We are excited to provide everything you need to feel confident about opening your A La Mode Shoppe. We will provide you with seven to ten days of extensive training at headquarters or another location, about six to nine weeks before your targeted business opening. The training covers administrative, operational, and sales/marketing procedures, practical tips, and hands-on job training. This training will be provided for the franchisee and one other designated attendee. Next, we offer the on-site phase of our training program, typically beginning at (or shortly before) the opening of your store. Our trainers will help get you and your staff up to speed. This is typically completed within ten to 14 days. In addition, we will present you with a copy of our confidential operations manual to help you start an ice cream shop that’s primed for growth.

The total initial investment necessary to begin operations ranges from $274,000 to $483,000 for a Flagship Shoppe location. For a Scoop Shoppe, the total initial investment necessary to begin operations is from $179,500 to $368,000. The initial franchise fees for either option range from $24,500 to $35,000. As with any new venture, it’s important to have adequate capital to fund the initial business growth stages.

We charge a royalty fee equal to 6% of weekly gross revenue. Franchisees will contribute up to 3% of gross revenue to the system marketing fund and are required to commit 1% to local marketing paid monthly, as well as a minimum of $5,000 for the Grand Opening. Collected marketing fees allow us to fund our ongoing support services and the continued development of marketing tools, recipes, training programs, and systems upgrades. The initial term of your agreement is seven years, with three subsequent successor agreement options of five years each.
